About this resource
Six packs, 24 original written quizzes and four versions per pack. Bring together the Science Shop practical and data-analysis collection for Cambridge International AS & A Level Biology 9700, supporting selected Paper 3 and Paper 5 skills in the 2028–2030 syllabus.
The six packs:
- 01 Measurement and Recording: operational variables, proportional and serial dilutions, raw recording, resolution, uncertainty, replication and targeted risk precautions.
- 02 Microscopy and Biological Drawing: calibration and image scale, observational drawings, visible comparisons, representative sampling and area or count estimates.
- 03 Experimental Results and Evaluation: graph construction, interval rates, pooled percentages, calibrated volumes, anomalous results, confounding and replication.
- 04 Planning Investigations: operational variables, sampling, controlled conditions, independent replication, reproducible methods, analysis and proportionate safety.
- 05 Data Analysis and Statistics: statistical test selection, variation and uncertainty, confidence intervals and interpretation of statistical calculations.
- 06 Evaluating Evidence: design validity, data quality, anomalous observations, measurement limitations, causal inference and the strength of biological conclusions.
Packs 01–03 support selected AS Level Paper 3 skills; Packs 04–06 support selected A Level Paper 5 skills. Each pack contains four student quizzes, versions A–D, four matching fully explained mark schemes and a teacher guide with a learning-objective map and results tracker.
Everything is supplied in both editable Word and print-ready PDF format: 54 documents in two formats, giving 108 content files and 132 pages across the 54 PDFs. Each quiz is 20 marks with a provisional suggested time of 40 minutes. Short filenames and separate pack folders make the collection easy to navigate.
Use the versions for classroom practice, parallel classes or follow-up after teaching. Worked answers and marking guidance explain the reasoning behind answers. Datasets are constructed for assessment and diagrams are simplified scientific representations.
In Pack 05, the main statistical calculations rotate across the versions: A chi-squared, B t-test, C Pearson correlation and D Spearman rank correlation. Each version assesses selection, assumptions or correct use of all four tests; full calculation coverage is across that pack, not within every version.
These written quizzes support practical preparation and follow-up; they do not replace hands-on laboratory work or reproduce a complete Cambridge examination. The versions have not been student-trialled or statistically equated. Adjust timing for your class and use results for classroom feedback rather than official grade boundaries.
This bundle contains the same resources as the six individual Science Shop practical and data-analysis packs. Avoid purchasing overlapping packs unless you need additional licences.
Original independent Science Shop teaching material, not produced, approved or endorsed by Cambridge International Education. Covers selected skills rather than the complete syllabus. Single-teacher licence. Digital ZIP download; no physical item.
